Frequently asked questions.

How do I know if my child would benefit from therapy?

If your child’s worries, rituals, or emotional struggles are starting to interfere with their daily life — school, friendships, sleep, or family routines — therapy can be a helpful next step to give your child the skills they need to cope.

I am interested to see if therapy is a good fit for my child - how do I begin the process with you?

The fact that you are looking into support for your child is huge! Reaching out is the first important step. The best way to begin is by filling out the inquiry form on my website or contacting me directly by email. Once I hear from you, I will personally reach out to schedule a brief phone consultation.

During this call, I will learn more about your child and answer any questions you may have for me. We will decide whether my approach is the right fit for your family, and if it is a good match, we will schedule an initial intake session together.

The process is collaborative and transparent. My goal is for families to understand what their child needs and guide them toward the right next step. At times it may mean beginning therapy together and other times may mean connecting parents with other providers better fit for their child.

What age range do you work with?

I work primarily with children, teens, and their families — typically ages 8 through 18. I occasionally work with young adults on a case-by-case basis if their needs align with my specialties in OCD and anxiety

What type of therapy do you use?

I was extensively trained in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), which are evidence-based treatments for anxiety and related disorders. I also incorporate mindfulness techniques and a family-systems approach, ensuring that therapy supports not just the child, but the family as a whole.

Do you accept insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider, which means I do not bill insurance directly. However, I can provide a “superbill” that you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement, depending on your plan. I’m happy to explain this process in more detail during our consultation.

How long does therapy take?

Every child and teen is different, so the length of therapy depends on their unique needs and goals. My approach is not meant for indefinite therapy — my aim is to equip children and teens with the skills, confidence, and understanding they need to handle life’s challenges effectively and, over time, to thrive on their own.
