Dr. Yasmin Taban is the lead psychologist at her boutique private practice. She intentionally keeps an intimate practice for her clients receive tailored and specialized care. Her aim for each and every client is for them to learn the tools and skills they need to live a successful and confident life.
Dr. Taban primarily works with children, teens and their families and treats anxiety and related disorders including Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Social Phobia, Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Separation Anxiety Disorder (SAD), Specific Phobia, depression, and life stressors. She is extensively trained in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure-Response Prevention (ERP). She also utilizes third wave CBT interventions including mindfulness and acceptance-based therapies.
Dr. Taban has trained across many different types of settings ranging from outpatient therapy to Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP). She has provided both assessment and interventions to children, adolescents, and adults with a range of social/emotional/developmental disorders. Dr. Taban has a special interest in addressing the unique mental health needs of children struggling with anxiety and OCD. She trained at the UCLA Child OCD Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) under the supervision of leading psychologists in the field of anxiety-related disorders. Dr. Taban continued her work with children with anxiety and OCD at Rogers Behavioral Health working in their Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). Her training in these intensive settings have trained her to have a depth understanding in treating these diagnoses.
Dr. Yasmin Taban obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She then went on to receive both her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology and Doctor of Clinical Psychology degree at the APA-accredited California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University, Los Angeles (CSPP-LA). Throughout her time in her doctoral program, Dr. Taban worked with children and teens with emotional, behavioral, and developmental disorders. She completed her APA-accredited pre-doctoral clinical psychology internship at Western Youth Services, a community mental health clinic focusing on intergenerational trauma. Some of the many clinical settings Dr. Taban worked at include, UCLA OCD Intensive Outpatient Program, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), and Rogers Behavioral Health.
During her time in her doctoral program, Dr. Taban wrote her dissertation entitled The Development of Compassion, an Eastern and Western Perspective. She believes it is crucial to integrate compassion in her treatment approach and life.
